In this project, we unified both the dining room and the kitchen, which was separated by a loadbearing wall. In addition, we wanted to open up a second bearing wall between the dining room and hallway as well to give a more open feel to the kitchen space, so we had some work to do. The next step was to lay new porcelain 12 x 24 floor tiles in preparation for the new cabinetry which extends right up to the 9 foot ceiling! A custom Island was added with a super cool popup exhaust hood behind the gas cooktop. Cambria “Brittanica” veined quartz countertops were added and the combination of a “handmade” look shiny subway tile and mosaic tiles were used to complete the decor. What a transformation from the old two room look!
